George Lucas called his robots: ‘strange creatures in a strange land’ – no more! Bought as toys but to me they are sculptures and art objects, with personality and character. (But not all are ‘nice’).

I use Plasticine and other modelling clays – along with whatever bits and pieces I can find – to create my ‘strange creatures’.  

I am a member of the select group known as  SCREAM: ‘Stevens Crouch Rocket Experimenters And Modellers’. We meet to build rockets and then have a ‘launch’ day. My rocket successfully exploded upwards and parachuted gently back to earth. 

Each Christmas, I make a ‘tableau’, consisting of items from around the house and studios. There will be robots and angels, snowmen, penguins, rockets, candles, bears, stars………

My back yard is The South Downs – and I am continually fascinated by the ancient ‘Sacred Sites’ and their impact on the landscape. Giant sculptures, really.
